About Mary Delany (1700-1788): In her 70s, Delany invented a form of paper-cutting or decoupage, which she called her "paper mosaiks" and created 985 of these intricate illustrations of botanical specimens. Most of her work was donated to the British Museum by her great-niece, Augusta Hall, Baroness Llanover in 1897.
