Card Set (Wallet): London Landmarks
This set of notecards features images of Edwin La Dell's London Landmarks.
Edwin La Dell was born on 7th January 1914, the elder son of a Sheffield book-binder. In 1935 Edwin La Dell won a scholarship to the Royal College of Art where he was taught by amongst others by John Nash RA & Gilbert Spencer RA. La Dell became a major figure in the development of post-war printmaking in Britain. He was Head of Printmaking at the Royal College of Art from 1955 to 1970, where he introduced the idea of artists making original lithographs in what was then a narrowly based etching school.
His final series, prints of New York, was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 2004.
