Tray (Medium): Orient Blue

The tray size is 46 cm x 30 cm (18.1" x 11.8"), and the tray colour is midnight blue, with a multi-coat lacquer finish.

Our design is based on the work of the 19th century architect and designer Owen Jones, whose perception of the "Orient" was influenced by both Ancient Egyptian designs, and designs in the Alhambra in Andalucia. This influence was evident in his designs and colours for the 1851 Great Exhibition in London, Crystal Palace in south London, and his regular work as a designer and decorator in Victorian London. We have used one of Jones's designs and reworked it to decorate the most beautiful lacquered medium sized tray.
