This card shows a water colour illustration, by Daniel Mackie, of a dragonfly. 

In ancient times, Japan was called “Akitsushima”, a name that was given to it by the 5th century emperor, Yuryaku, and translates as, “Isle of the Dragonfly”. The story goes that the Emperor was bitten by a horsefly which was promptly eaten by a dragonfly. The Emperor honoured the dragonfly by naming Japan after it.

Card is blank inside so that it can be used for any purpose.

Cards are printed on high quality 300gsm card. 

Each card is packed with an envelope and is protected in a cellophane bag.
